Series 55 “2nd Generation – Guardian” In-line Detonation Flame Arrester
The Westech Series 55 In-Line Detonation Arrestor is tested in excess of existing standards with complete testing through the “Flame Profile Curve”. All Westech arresters are tested for actual field conditions not mandated by existing standards, including momentum impulse (long-run stable detonation), thermal failure and reignition of downstream unburned gases providing maximum protection against all modes of flame propagation. The Series 55 In-Line Detonation Arrester is constructed with a Carbon Steel body and 304SS Elements. The elements are designed with expanded metal 304SS sheets that, when complete, resemble a cartridge filter. The expanded metal elements are designed to prevent flame transmission but allow the maximum free flow of vapor. The Series 55 is the ultimate 2nd Generation detonation arrester that will outperform all the competition. The Cylindrical Element Design provides up to 80 times the surface area of conventional arresters minimizing pressure drop and fouling effects thus decreasing downtime for maintenance. The element design provides the LOWEST pressure drop and fouling rate of any conventional arrester, reducing costs associated with piping systems and components. The Series 55 is available for NEC Group “D” & “C” or IEC Group IIA / IIB3 vapors.
